Thank you for visiting the Clean Rivers Healthy Communities web site. We, the staff of the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, have joined with the City of St. Louis' Department of Health to address one of the region’s most pressing environmental and public health threats – the pollution of our waterways.
We are all interested in preserving and protecting our waterways and to do this, we must limit the amount of pollutants that enter our rivers, creeks and streams. MSD is developing a plan to reduce combined sewer overflows (CSOs), one of the contributors to water pollution. You, too, can play a part by reducing the amount of trash, hard solids and grease that enters our waterways during heavy rain periods. Our rivers, streams and creeks are shared regional resources and we ask for your assistance in protecting them for future generations. Please join us as we continue our efforts to improve St. Louis' waterways.
